Searching for Publications:
You can search for a publication by Title Keyword, Description Keyword, Publisher, Author Keyword, Shelf No, or ISBN. Alternatively you can select a set category from the category drop down list. For best results, try keeping your search strings simple.
Using the Search Results:
Now you have begun a search you may browse through all results relevant to the search string you provided. The results display selected information for each publication. To view all data and detail relating to each publication simply click on either the publication cover or the title.
When you find a publication you wish to buy click the 'Add to Basket' button to add the title to your shopping basket. The title will be displayed in the Shopping Basket section together with its order number, quantity and price.
To search by another criteria, simply choose 'Search Store' from the links at the top of the page and you will return to the search page.
Viewing the Basket:
Your shopping basket will show all items that have been added so far. To change quanitities of publication titles simply use the drop down list and the prices will update automatically.
To delete a title from the shopping cart, click on the 'Remove' button to the right of the title. Alternatively you may wish to remove all items from your basket using the 'Empty Basket' button shown just above the post and packing detail.
If you are happy with your selections and wish to begin the purchasing process first select the post and packing charges related to your location from the drop down list below the sub-total and click on the 'Pay for Items' button. This will take you to our secure server where you can enter your payment and delivery details.
Secure Payment Area:
The IHS payment area uses SSL. SSL uses a complex system of key exchanges between your browser and the server you are communicating with in order to encrypt the data before transmitting it across the web. Many web sites use this protocol to obtain confidential user information, such as credit card numbers.
A web page with an active SSL session is what we mean when we say a web page is "secure".
There is a standard among web browsers to display a "lock" icon somewhere in the window of the browser (NOT in the web page display area!) For example, Microsoft Internet Explorer displays the lock icon in the lower-right of the browser window.
This protocol has been approved by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) as a standard.
As another example, Mozilla's FireFox Web Browser displays the lock icon in the lower-left corner.
Once the secure payment window has opened you may select your preferred method of payment and fill-in your details as required. Each order will require a valid email address.
Once you have filled in your payment, address and further details you may check over your order before clicking the 'Complete your Order >>' button to complete your payment and order. You will receive an order confirmation via email shortly after.
